| 1) TAKE CARE OF THE OUTSIDE |
| Remove all your garbage, and make sure that the grass, trees, and bushes are nicely trimmed.
| 2) INVEST IN STORAGE |
| Clear away any unnecessary furniture throughout the house and stash it somewhere offsite. All rooms should showcase their intended function.
| 3) IT’S NOT PERSONAL |
| Remove all of your personal items such as family photos and any collections you may be displaying.
| 4) LET THE SUNSHINE IN |
| A well-lit home is essential. Make sure every room is well lit, and replace any burnt out light bulbs. Add table lamps wherever necessary.
| 5) SPIC ‘N’ SPAN KITCHENS |
| Be sure to clear countertops to showcase usable space and take the magnets off the refrigerator door.
| 6) SHOWCASE CLOSET SPACE |
| Only keep the current season of fashion wear in the closet, and pack away the rest. Closets must look tidy and spacious, you’re moving soon, right? Time to give away and/or throw away!
| 7) BEAUTIFUL BATHROOMS |
| Clear the vanities and stash away all personal items. Coordinate towels to one or two colors only.
| 8) PAINT LIKE THE SWISS |
| Colours must be neutral. If you’re not sure, get a professional opinion before you paint the wrong colour!
| 9) SCREEN THE SCREENS |
| Remove all unused screens from the home and clean the windows - this could add up to 30% more natural light to your house (see #4).
| 10) INVEST IN YOUR SALE |
| Invest in a reputable staging company. When done right, you could get between 6 - 30% more money for your property than shown in its original condition.
